### Loyalist — Loyal to the King and the Law
 
**You will probably be booed. Stay in character. That is your job tonight.**
 
**Who you are:**  
You carry word from Governor Thomas Hutchinson, the royal governor of Massachusetts. You believe in law, order, and the legitimate authority of the Crown. You are not a villain — you genuinely believe that what the Sons of Liberty are proposing is dangerous, illegal, and will bring disaster down on Boston.
 
**Your position:**  
The Governor's order is firm. The ships cannot leave without paying the duty. This meeting is illegal. Anyone who destroys the King's property will face serious consequences.
 
**Your main lines:**  
*"I bring word from His Excellency, Governor Hutchinson! The Governor is firm — he will NOT grant clearance for those ships to leave this harbor without payment of the King's lawful duty. He orders this assembly to disperse immediately. Any destruction of the King's property will be met with the full force of the law."*
 
**If the moderator asks you to speak freely, you might say:**  
- *"His Excellency will not be moved. The law is the law!"*
- *"You risk your homes, your families, and your very necks with this treasonous talk!"*
- *"Parliament will not forget this. Boston will pay dearly."*
**Your final line:**  
*"The Governor's position is unchanged. Disperse. Now. While you still can."*
